Dirt and Dust... DVD Extras
May. 28th, 2003 02:24 pmScenes that for various reasons were cut from ‘Dirt and Dust...’
· Xander catches Andrew cooking and singing ‘I (Yi Yi Yi Yi). Don’t know where this came from: I just had this vision of Andrew Carmen Miranda-ing around the kitchen.
· Xander and Andrew provide a running commentary on one of Buffy’s motivational speeches, with every line a movie or TV show reference. This was eventually cut down to Xander’s “Run away!” during the girls’ movie.
· While Andrew’s staying over at Xander’s apartment, they talk about how Andrew joined the Trio, and eventually the conversation turns to Jonathan’s paragon spell. Xander has vague memories of feeling “kinda tingly” around Jonathan.
· The original R-rated scene should have been pre-‘Chosen’. After Buffy walks out, and Spike and Andrew return, Xander feels like everything is going horrendously wrong, and takes off with Andrew in tow. Terrified that he’s going to die within hours, Xander kisses and then sleeps with Andrew, before returning to Buffy’s house to panic and have sex with Anya. There just wasn’t enough spare time in the actual canonical plot for this to fit in.
· In L.A., feeling isolated and scared, Xander bumps into Lorne who proceeds to drop none-too-subtle hints about Andrew, finishing with, “I’ll put it into words you can understand. We are not alone.” This was cut because it was lame.
· Andrew introduces Lorne, then tells Xander that he’s from another dimension. Xander asks, “are there shrimp?”
· Andrew refers to Faith as ‘Lydia the tattooed Slayer’.
Assorted references and quotes that didn’t make it in (and bonus points to anyone who can identify these):
· “So quake with fear, you tiny fools!”
· “Your days are over, mister!”
· “Crunchy frog!”
· “That’s the one thing I never did like about this place: all the damn vampires.”
· “Last time I checked, this was not the right room for a five minute argument!”

That's Rocky Horror Picture Show, right?
and
“Crunchy frog!”
is Monty Python. The sketch with the icky ice cream flavors. Alternately, it's Denmark's finest indie record label. Which I add simply because I'm too dumb to get the others, and adding random answers makes me feel a bit brighter.
Anyway, I loved your series so much. Hope you realize you've got a fan following in the Xandrew community now. :)
